Components Dialog

Overview

The components dialog window lets you view and edit the components present in a davinci page. To open the dialog, click the components link in the control panel.

When the components dialog is first opened, if there are no components selected in the page, it will display the components in the page as tree structure. You can navigate through the tree to see the page structure. Whenever you click an item in the tree, it will select that component in the page.

If a component is currently selected in the page when the components dialog is open, it will display that component, and any component underneath it in the tree. (that is, it hides the components higher up the tree) This is done to make it easier to focus in on parts of the page.

There are a number action buttons in the components dialog, including the following:

  • Edit - opens an editor for the selected component, if one is available.
  • Remove - removes the selected component from the page.
  • Visible - switches the visibility of the selected component. If the component is visible, it hides it. If it is hidden, it makes it visible.
  • Cut
  • Copy - copy the selected component to the clipboard
  • Config
  • Copy Id
  • Rename - allows you to rename a component. Enter a name in the textbox, and click rename
