Business Analysis

Overview


Business Analysis is the process of identifying a company's needs and the problems it faces, and then analyzing and proposing solutions. It is a critical component in project management and often includes helping to gather requirements for a project, justifying the project within the context of the company's strategic plan, and evaluating project success and post mortems.

The business analyst function is analytical in nature. That is, the role does not have any management responsibilities unless it is merged with project manager.
