Overview

The choices for modeling account openings are somewhat more limited than modeling account closures. In the case of a account closure, we have a specific account that we can model.

Accounts that open did not exist prior to being opened. This means that we cannot model individual accounts. However, we can model account opening as a count process in a manner similar to what is done for account closures. (see account closures counting models)
