Heat Equation

Overview

The heat equation is used to model the flow of heat through a material over time. The 2-dimensional version of the equation is given:
{% \frac{\partial u}{\partial t} = \frac{\partial^2 u}{\partial x^2} + \frac{\partial^2 u}{\partial y^2 } %}
The equation is first order in the time derivative and second order in each of the space derivatives.
