Basis of Topology

Overview

A basis of a topology is a family of open sets ({% B %}) such that every open subset set of the given topology is the union of members of {% B %}.

Countable Bases

A countable basis is one for which {% B %} is countable. A topology with a coutable basis is also known as second countable, or completely separable.
