Overview


Algebra is the study of sets of mathematical objects with a set of operations that define relationships among the objects.

Common examples of algebras include the sets of natural numbers, integers, real numbers, or complex numbers, with addition and multiplication as operations.

Formal Definition


An algebra is a pair, {% (A,F) %} such that {% A %} is a non empty set, and {% F %} is a set of operations on {% A %}.
