Overview

The spreadsheet app provides a simple spreadsheet for spreadsheet like calculations.

Importing Workspace Data

Data that in workspace can be imported into your spreadsheet. In the import section, click the new link. This will open an import data dialog window. Select the dataset to import from your workspace in the dropdown box. Next, if the dataset is tabular in nature, list the columns to import as a column delimited list. By default, all columns are listed in the textbox. Lastly, select a cell as the anchor of the import. This will function as the top left corner of the data in the spreadsheet.

Once you import data into the spreadsheet, you can edit that data simply by editing the desired cell. Note, this does not edit the original dataset in the workspace. However, if the data is being exported (see below), the export will receive any updates you make. If you clear out a cell that contained an update, it will return to the value in the data that was imported.

When imported data changes, it will change the corresponding data in the spreadsheet, unless that particular cell has an edit in it. If the cell contains an edit, the edit will override the changed data.

Exporting Data to the Workspace

In addition to importing data, you can also export data from the spreadsheet back into your workspace. Simply click the new link in the export data section. This will open an export data dialog window. Enter a name for the new dataset. In the cells textbox, enter the cells you wish to export. The top left cell is entered, followed by a comma, and then the bottom right cell, as in the following.

If the top row contains column names, click the headers checkbox.
