Queues
Overview
Queues are the data structures on the server that saves the messages in a channel or feed. When
you want to create a new channel, you create a queue first to hold the channel messages.
The queue app lets you create new queues as well as deleting messages in a queue that you own.
Adding a Queue
Your queues are listed in the queue combobox. When you select a queue in the combobox, the queue
details are displayed in the center panel, including an edit messages link. For queues that you create,
you need to associate permissions to the queue. That is,you need to decide which users can
post and read the channel. This is done by adding groups to the queue. Groups are
groups of users that you specify that you can assign permissions to. For creating
or editing groups, please see the
groups app.
You cannot add groups to your feed, which is allowed to be viewed and subscribed to by any of your friends.
Deleting Queue Messages
To delete a message, click on the edit messages link. This will take you to a page that lists all the
messages and message details. It does not display the message itself. This is because some messages
may cause the browser to hang, so you can view a message by clicking the view link, but you also
just delete messages without viewing them first.
